The 2024 release of New Riff Sour Mash Single Malt Whiskey showcases a unique blend of mashbills, building upon the experimentation with malt whiskey that has been a hallmark of the distillery since its inception in 2014. This latest edition features barrels aged up to 9 years, including some aged in Madeira casks, and is bottled at a robust 114.5 proof without chill filtration. Composed of a diverse blend of barleys, including Golden Promise, Maris Otter, and Scottish peated barley malt, as well as beer-inspired mashbills inspired by traditional Barleywine and Belgian Quadrupel recipes, this whiskey truly embodies the innovative spirit of New Riff.
